From the Thomas Cup and Uber Cup to the BWF World Tour and Malaysia Open, matahari88 brings Malaysians the most complete badminton betting platform available. Enjoy competitive odds, live in-play betting, and express payouts straight to your e-wallet.
Badminton is more than just a sport in Malaysia — it's woven into our national identity. From Lee Chong Wei's legendary run on the world stage to the rise of a new generation led by Lee Zii Jia, Ng Tze Yong, Aaron Chia, and Soh Wooi Yik, the spirit of Malaysian badminton has never dimmed. It lives on in every Malaysian fan who proudly watches our athletes battle it out on the international courts.
Matahari88 understands this passion deeply. That's why we built a badminton betting platform genuinely designed for Malaysian players — not a localised version of a foreign product, but a homegrown platform that truly understands the context, tournaments, and players that matter most to the Malaysian badminton community.
At matahari88, you can bet on virtually every major badminton tournament in the world – from BWF Super 1000 events to the World Championships, the Olympics, and of course the Thomas and Uber Cups, which hold a special place in every Malaysian fan's heart. Every match featuring Malaysian players comes with full coverage and an extensive range of betting markets.
Odds are updated in real time during the match. Click to view all available betting markets.
One of the key advantages of betting on matahari88 is the accuracy and speed of odds updates. Unlike platforms that refresh odds every few minutes, matahari88 uses a real-time data processing system that instantly translates every in-match development — whether it's a point, a set, or an injury — into precise odds movements.
This is especially critical in in-play betting, where a single decisive point can shift the odds dramatically within seconds. Players who can read match momentum well are in a strong position to take advantage of these odds movements for better betting value at matahari88.
Odds are displayed in decimal format. Example: a RM 100 bet at odds of 2.15 returns RM 215 (RM 100 stake + RM 115 profit) if it wins. Lower odds indicate a higher probability of winning, but a smaller payout.

Malaysia has one of the longest and richest badminton traditions in the world. Since the inaugural Thomas Cup in 1948, Malaysia has established itself as one of the sport's most formidable powers – winning the Thomas Cup five times and the Uber Cup seven times throughout the tournament's history.
Legends such as Wong Peng Soon, Eddy Choong, Razif Sidek, Jalani Sidek, Rashid Sidek, Foo Kok Keong, and of course Lee Chong Wei have written Malaysia's name in golden ink throughout badminton history. Lee Chong Wei in particular stands among the greatest players the sport has ever seen – he held the world number one ranking for 199 consecutive weeks and won three Olympic silver medals for Malaysia.
Now, a new generation has taken up that torch. Lee Zii Jia, who broke away from the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) to chart his own path, has proven that the Malaysian badminton spirit burns as bright as ever. Ng Tze Yong from Sibu, Sarawak, has stunned the world by defeating top-ranked players in unexpected upsets, while doubles pair Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik continue to show that Malaysia remains a force to be reckoned with at the very top of men's doubles badminton.
For Malaysian badminton fans looking to add a new dimension to their viewing experience, badminton betting at matahari88 offers an exciting way to get more deeply involved with the sport they love. Imagine watching Lee Zii Jia go head-to-head with Viktor Axelsen while your live bet at matahari88 shifts with every swing of momentum – each point lost or won carries that much more meaning and excitement.
That said, as with all forms of betting, it's important to approach badminton betting on matahari88 with a cool head and a clear strategy. Don't let the excitement of supporting Malaysia cloud your rational judgment. A few things to keep in mind:
First, make sure you understand the tournament format you're betting on. Group stage and knockout matches play out very differently – a team may not give their full effort in a group stage game if they've already secured qualification. This can affect results and open up valuable betting opportunities on matahari88.
Second, badminton is a sport heavily influenced by psychological factors. Players competing in front of a home crowd – such as at the Malaysia Open or a Thomas Cup held in Malaysia – often get a significant motivational boost that can dramatically affect match outcomes. Home advantage is a factor well worth considering in your betting analysis.
Third, stay on top of the latest injury updates, squad selections, and schedule changes. Matahari88 maintains a regularly updated badminton news section so our players always have the freshest information to make smarter betting decisions.
